The theme for today's class was effortless aikido. Blending so completely with the attack that you become
almost part of it. You are just there to extend the attack along its natural course, away from you. You do not expend excess energy in striking or throwing, you just guide it to the ground. No hard grabbing, no tension. Get close to the attacker because, sometimes, you have to be really close for the technique to work and being right up beside him or her is the safest place to be. Be aware of your surroundings. Do not just focus on the hand that's coming at you but on the whole person. Use your peripheral vision. Anticipate. Relax.
Now get in the middle of the circle and we'll attack you one at a time. Cool.
